Völuspá

(1)
I ask for silence from all holy races,
higher and lower descendants of Heimdallr,
that you want me, All-Father,
to recite ancient stories, those that are foremost in the memory.

(3)
In the ancient times when Ymir lived,
there was no sand, sea, waves,
earth was not found nor heaven above;
there was a vast void, and nowhere was there grass.

(57)
The sun turns black, the earth sinks into the sea,
the bright stars disappear from the sky;
steam rises with roaring flames,
high heat plays against the heavens themselves.

(45/47)
Brothers will fight and kill each other,
sisters' children will defile kinship;
The standing ash of Yggdrasil trembles,
the ancient tree groans, and the giant is set free.

(44)
Now Garm howls loudly before Gnipahellir,
the bonds will break, and the wolf runs free;
I see a multitude of things, much more than before,
about the fate of the gods, the mighty ones.

(59)
Once again she sees the earth rise up
from the ocean, lush and green.
Waterfalls cascade, an eagle soars above,
one who hunts fish upon the mountain

(64)
She sees a hall stand more radiant than the sun,
adorned with gold on Gimlé.
There loyal hosts shall dwell,
and enjoy delights for all ages
