Poor Devil

Today you passed
By my side
Without noticing, without looking at me
In someone else's arms

I don't even want
to think about it,
but I continue on like a fool
in love.

Who could be with you and be that other one
I would be able to keep you little by little
And it's that you've managed to force yourself to ignore
That I love you like I've never loved anyone else.

You don't know
how it feels
when someone you love
doesn't love you back.

Who would say
that at my age
because of you I feel
like a poor devil

Who could be with you and be that other one
I would be able to keep you little by little
And it's that you've managed to force yourself to ignore
That I love you like I've never loved anyone else.

You don't know
how it feels
when someone you love
doesn't love you back.

Who would say
that at my age
because of you I feel
like a poor devil

I'm sorry if you don't think it is all correct, but I am a native speaker of English with a degree in Spanish Language and Linguistics and near-native fluency in Spanish. I have a lot of experience in translation (various courses and real-life experience translating for natives of both languages) and have spent years living amongst natives of Spanish. Something that many people do not understand, yet is crucial to translation, is that we are not translating words literally; if we were, then the translation would often not make much sense in the target language. Rather we are translating ideas. If, in saying that some of the words are not translated correctly, you mean that they are not the literal translations, then yes, you are correct. They are instead translated so as to make sense in the target language, English ... my native language.

It's a perfectly good translation. The only part I'm not sure I agree with is "Y es que a fuerza de ignorarme has conseguido..." I see it rather as "And it's by continuously ignoring me that you've managed to make me love you more than I've ever loved anyone else before."
