The Adventure

Refrain:
The adventure begins at dawn
At the dawn of each morning;
The adventure begins then
So the light washes our hands.
The adventure begins at dawn
And the dawn shows us the way;
The adventure is the treasure
We discover each morning.
For Martin, it's iron on the anvil,
For Cesar, it's wine that will sing,
For Yvon, it's the foaming sea,
It's the day lighting up,
It's the dough we knead.
The adventure begins at dawn,
The dawn of each morning
The adventure begins then
So the light washes our hands.

{refrain}

All this we search to rediscover
Blooms each day around the corner of our lives
The grand adventure we have to take.
Between our church and our city hall,
Between grandpa What's-his-name's gate
And the pretty woods of Mr. the Baron,
And between our neighbor's vineyard
And the sweet of smile of Madelon (the barmaid),
Madelon!

{refrain}

All that we search for so we can love
Is nearby us and at each moment
In the empty streets, in the shadows close by,
At the end of the path, in the middle of fields,
Standing in the wind and sowing wheat,
Bent toward the soil, greeting the earth,
Seated nearby, old and plaiting wicker,
Laying in the sun, drinking the light
In the light.

{refrain}

{partial refrain}

I think you made one mistake.

Dans le creux des rues dans l'ombre des prés
- You mistook prés, which means 'meadow', for près.
