Si Yo Me Muero Mañana

If I die tomorrow

If I die tomorrow, I don't want you to cry for me
don't send me flowers either, better go to "bacilar"
that I have screwed up enough and gotten in 50 messes
And I, I'm not any saint for you to start crying

That if tomorrow you die I will go to the 'disco'
To 'bacilar' to the songs you used to like to dance
Ask God our dad that if he sends for me
That if I can stay a little bit longer

That I want to stay a little bit longer

And if anything happens to me tell my mom* not to suffer so much
That I was no saint that better go to the bank
That if I am totally broke* when I die
To check my account that suposedly I have left quite a bit

And you tell the 'lady'
To always remember me
Each time she goes to get drunk*
But since I am not dead I am still alive and kicking
We'll go on "vacilando" drinking and smoking

But do things right to me and don't think to whom*
To those alive greetings to the dead that rest underneath me*
Travelling around the world in an steel bird
You don't understand any of this and listen how I bury it*?

If tomorrow my life already lived is over
Go and explain to my children and give them my farewell
If tomorrow it's my turn go and tell the eldest
That I don't know what I want wanting but from the other life* ?

And if death comes to get me
Tell her to come later not that
I am a coward
But the truth is that I would like to stay

La la la life is good but too short
Na na nothing of the drama everybody gets
Asking is the farewell no doubt about it*?
Since the welcome dosn't last long last long

Sickness without cure one is borne to live
One lives to later die
That I have to take advantage of life
Before death comes to get me

That's why I live the day of today
In case I die tomorrow
As if it were my last day.

If I die tomorrow (firs, second, and third stanzas repeat)

I gave a shut to this translation even if the language is the lowest slung ever. The text is loaded with grammatical and spelling mistakes. Some of the words, I (being Spanish) don't know. They even use a 'four letter word', (that one I know). Probably it is all with the idea of giving the song some low class flavor.

Sections or words that are not clear or I guess, I have marked with * and ?., in case somebody can give a better interpretation.
The fact that, in this lexicon, don't pronounce the endings and, on top of that, doesn't have punctuation, makes it difficult, in certain passages, to tell who does or says something.

"Do things right to me and don't look to whom", comes from the saying "Haz bien y no mires a quien" = "do good and don't look to whom".
Bacilar = popular dance of the fifties
Disco = abrevation of discoteque
Broke = penniless

Stanza 5, in my opinion, doesn't make a ny sense, at all.

Is the translation accuarate? Who can tell?

Thanks for trying to translate this song, I think a lot of it is puerto rican slang but thanks for giving it a shot. I understand it more clearly now ;)
