Dunkirk
As Rhayader departs, leaving Fritha behind he
cannot prevent the Snow Goose following him
out across the channel and left into the heart of
battle.
Dunkirk
Rhayader, Fritha'yı geride bırakıp yola
çıkarken Kar Kazının kendisini hat
boyunca savaşın kalbine takip etmesini
engelleyemez.

"The music is more than eloquent: Dunkirk, French port, scene of a particularly dramatic episode in the Second War. Thousands of allied soldiers cornered against the sea by the Nazi army and aviation, and ships of all kinds doing desperate rescue work for days under constant German fire.
During those hard days countless stories are forged, and among them, the soldiers speak of a huge white goose, which appeared between the smoke and the shots of the planes, as an emissary of the arrival of a small boat guided by a strange individual that was transporting the men, with the goose always flying around them. The bird becomes a kind of prophecy: everyone who sighted it would come out alive. The music builds in intensity to a dramatic climax; the end is not heroic.
Among the stories of those days is that of an officer who narrates how during one of the rescue trips, his ship changed course to observe a small boat with a large white goose perched on its mast and whose crew member layed dead from a machine gun blast. Then they realized that there was a mine in front of them, which they would have collided with if they had not changed course. They detonated it with shots and the resulting waves sank the small boat. The goose, until then inseparable, flew around three times and then left heading west."
