Brunette my dear friend though counterintuitive means that the subjet has dark hair yet that doesn't mean that his or her skin is brown like the subjet on this song: a hispanic (mexican) woman. the word swatty is more accurate to describe her genetic roots (the word is not in fashion anymore not because is obsolete but because the "politicaly correct" ultraconscientiousness of some people).
"Carne" as you said in the strict sense means "meat" but in spanish we say "carne" when refering to our bodies or our desires in some idioms. example: carne y hueso= flesh and bone not meat and bone, or sentir tu carne junto a la mia (to feel your skin next to mine not to feel your meat next to mine....lol...that would sound funny and somewhat a bit twisted or sick) so this is an example that sometimes one must translate in a way that makes sense in the culture where the translation is being done than making a straight translation.
Thanks and I hope my explanations help you and others that may be learning Spanish, I think that learning through songs can help a lot but sometimes cultural barriers may confuse some people. That's why I always write down notes on my translations and remember in latin american countries one can be white and not being american (from the USA)or caucasic european.....ta-ta

*just as in English if something is in the closet it means it is hidden from public view
and an enclosed cat is a Spanish expression meaning "fishy business".
**Cholo is a word too distorted nowadays that it is too difficult to explain the concept. For me cholo is some sort of a punk but please check wikipedia for more information.
***The last part of the song is a prayer: "The litany of the virgin"
