ليس الجهول كمن عَلِمْ
اقرأ بـأولِ آيةٍ
نزل الكتابُ المُحْتَكَمْ
واللهُ علمَ خَلقهُ
واللهُ أقـسـَمَ بالقلمْ
! اقرأ .. اقرأ .. اقرأ
إن القراءةَ رحلةٌ
في الكونِ في الفكرِ الأعَـمْ
في الحُـبِّ في الإيمانِ في
الإنسانِ في الوطـنِ الأشَـمْ
! اقرأ .. اقرأ .. اقرأ
اقرأ فإنك ذو نَـسَمْ

Read
Read for you are an owner of a soul.
Verily, the ignorant is not like the one who knows.
Read, by the first verse
the referred book (Qur'an) came down with.
Allah has taught his creation,
and Allah has sworn by the pen.

through the universe and through expansive thought,
through love, through faith,
through the human, through the proud nation.
