*1 Closest I could think of here was "roar like rapids"
*2 "taivas" can mean both sky and heaven.
*3 "vire" = tuning ie. of a guitar, "virkeä/vireä" = general alertness/livelyness/vitality of a person. "epä" turns this to a negative. Finnish case doesn't really translate here, see: Partitive case.
*4 "kasvaa" = grow, need to include this word from next line to make it sensible in English
*5 this was just a very weird/poetic line
