Μέσα στου αφέντη το αρχοντικό
είπανε πως είδαν έναν ποντικό
το τυρί πως τρώει απ' τη ντενέκα του
και γλυκοκοιτάζει τη γυναίκα του.
Τρέξετε αδέρφια, τρέξετε παιδιά
με μεγάλα ξύλα και χοντρά ραβδιά
Ψάχνοντας το σπίτι νυχτωθήκαμε
μα τον ποντικό δεν τονε βρήκαμε.
Τότε ειπ' ο αφέντης είναι φανερό
πως αυτά τα ζώα πόλεμο ιερό
μας κηρύξαν κι άλλους τους συγκίνησε
κι άλλους με το φόβο παρακίνησε.
Και θα σας πουλήσω γάτες τρομερές
με μεγάλα νύχια και χοντρές ουρές
είπε ο αφέντης κι έτσι γίνηκε
και κανείς απ' όλους δεν αρνήθηκε.
Κάτω στα χωράφια κλαιν οι κοπελιές
που θωρούν στο χώμα αηδονοφωλιές
και μικρά πουλάκια κάτω άψυχα
από τ' άλλα ζώα τα εφτάψυχα
Όμως ο αγώνας θα συνεχιστεί
μέχρι ο εχθρός μας να παραδοθεί!
και για την ειρήνη όλα γίνονται
και αδέρφια οι γάτες, που αμύνονται.
Πέρασαν τα χρόνια και τ' αφεντικό
κάνει συμμαχία με τον ποντικό
Ο εχθρός ο νέος ειν' οι γάτες μας
που ψηλά ανεβήκαν με τις πλάτες μας.
Μη λυποψυχάτε κράζει μια φωνή
ξέρετε ο αφέντης πως γα μας πονεί
και θα φέρει απόψε ν' αγοράσουμε
σκύλους και τη μπόρα να περάσουμε.
Μάθαμε στο τέλος πως τ' αφεντικό
είναι ένας κι ίδιος με τον ποντικό
ίδιος με το γάτη και το σκύλο μας
πως τον αγαπούμε αυτό το φίλο μας.
Mouse
Inside the master's palace
they said that they saw a mouse
that it's eating the cheese from his tin pot
and that it's looking at his wife with lust.
Run brothers, run children
with big wooden sticks and fat rods
We spent all day searching the house
but we didn't find the mouse.
Then the master said that it's obvious
that these animals have waged a holy
war against us, and some were moved
and some were motivated by fear.
And I will sell to you terrible cats
with big nails and fat tails
the master said, and thus it happened
and out of all, nobody made an objection.
Down at the fields the girls are crying
because they see nightingale nests on the Earth
and little birds fallen down soulless
by the other animals that have seven lives
But the struggle will go on
until our enemy surrenders!
and everything is happening for peace
and the cats that are defending, are our siblings.
The years passed and the master
is making an alliance with the mouse
Our new enemy are the cats
that became strong on our backs.
Don't lose hope, a voice is saying
you know how the master is aching for us
and will bring for us tonight to buy
dogs and to go through the storm.
In the end we found out that the master
is one and the same with the mouse
same with the cat and with our dog
oh how much we love this friend of ours.
