- 1. looking at the syntax I believe the German version should read 'Lass die Waffen heute schweigen. In den Abendhimmel steigen ... viele Lieder wunderbar'. Otherwise the lines don't make sense, especially when looking at the other verses that narrate the story in complete sentences
