Translation
The Village Boy
It is my pride to have been born
In a neighbourhood so humble
Far away from the noise
And fake society
I don't have the misfortune
of not being a village boy
I find myself among people
Who are not inauthentic
My destiny is very fair
I take it as it comes
Enduring sadness
Or hiding behind an illusion
I walk through life
Very happy with my poverty
Since I don't have money
I have a lot of heart
Descendant of Cuauhtémoc
Mexican by fortune
Unlucky in love
I'm a drunk and a troubadour
But how many millionaires
Would want to live my life
To sing to poverty
without feeling any pain
And this is why it is my pride and joy
To be from a neighbourhood so humble
Far away from the noise
And fake society
I compose my songs
So the village can sing them to me
And the day my village fails me
That day I will cry
poetic
