To Fly
I think that a dream like that will never return
And it painted my face and my hands in blue,
And suddenly I was swept up by the wind
And made me fly in the endless sky.
To fly, oh, oh,
To sing, oh, oh,
In the blue, painted in blue
Happy to be up there
And happily flying I find myself higher
Higher, higher than the sun
And all the while the world slowly gets far from me,
A sweet music has played only for me
To fly, oh, oh,
To sing, oh, oh,
In the blue, painted in blue
Happy to be up there
I think that a dream like that will never return
And it painted my face and my hands in blue,
And suddenly I was swept up by the wind
And made me fly in the endless sky.
To fly, oh, oh,
To sing, oh, oh,
In the blue, painted in blue
Happy to be up there
To fly, oh, oh,
To sing, oh, oh,
In the blue, painted in blue
Happy to be up there
I think that a dream like that will never return
And it painted my face and my hands in blue,
And suddenly I was swept up by the wind
And made me fly in the endless sky.
To fly, oh, oh,
To sing, oh, oh,
In the blue, painted in blue
Happy to be up there
To fly, oh, oh,
To sing, oh, oh,
In the blue, painted in blue
Happy to be up there

Comments
* The song is a cover of Domenico Modugno's 1958 song 'Nel blu, di pinto di blu', which was known popularly as 'Volare'.
* Mondugno's original song was part of the 1958 Eurovision Song Contest as Italy's submission, placing third. Albeit France won with André Claveau's song 'Dors Mon Amour', 'Volare' ended up becoming considerably more popular, generating multiple covers for decades on end, including this one by Gipsy Kings.
* Gipsy Kings' version of the song lacks the two latter stanzas of Modugno's original.
