Apenas respiro
Me hago pequeñita
Y me pongo a temblar

Y así pasan los días, de lunes a viernes
Como las golondrinas del poema de Becquér
De estación a estación de frente tú y yo
Ahí viene el silencio

De pronto me miras
Te miro y suspiras
Yo cierro los ojos
Tú apartas la vista
Apenas respiro
Me hago pequeñita
Y me pongo a temblar

Y entonces ocurre despiertan mis labios
Pronuncian tu nombre tartamudeando
Supongo que piensas que chica mas tonta
Y me quiero morir

Gracias a mi manos
Me vuelvo valiente
Y te beso en los labios
Dices que me quieres
Y yo te regalo el ultimo solplo de mi corazón

If I were more beautiful, and a little smarter
if I were special, if I were in a magazine
I'd have the courage of crossing the wagon
and ask who are you

You sit in front of me
and you don't even imagine
that it is for you that I wear my most beautiful skirt,
and when I see you throw a yawn at the crystal
my pupils are flooded

Suddenly you look at me
I look at you and you sigh
I close my eyes
you look away
I barely breath
I become small
and I shiver

and days go on like this, from monday to friday
like the nightningales in Bequer's poem
from station to station, in front you and I
here comes the silence

Suddenly you look at me
I look at you and you sigh
I close my eyes
you look away
I barely breath
I become small
and I shiver

And then it happens,
my lips wake up
they pronounce your name stammering
I suppose you are thinking "what a stupid girl"
and I want to die

but the time stops
and you approach saying:
"I don't know you, and I've been missing you"
every morning, I reject the bus and I take this train

And we are close to arriving,
my life has changed
this march 11 has been a special day
you take my hand, we get to a tunnel
that turns off the light

I find your face,
thanks to my hands
I become brave
and I kiss your lips
you say you love me
and I give to you the last breath of my heart

This is my first translation, I wish you enjoy it. If you don't, please be nice to me if you comment it.

By the way, there is a small difference in the lyrics provided and what I hear in the actual song (verse 4, last line). I understand "Va y viene el silencio" (Silence comes and goes), but since it could be me who is wrong, I translated with from lyrics provided here.

A beautiful song about the Madrid terrorist attacks, thanks for this translation. I think though that "yo no te conosco y ya te hechaba de menos" should be "I don't know you and I've been missing you": "and I already missed you" would translate as "y ya te perdi", as in missing an appointment rather than missing someone.

Also "un dia especial este 11 de marzo" is wrong; sounds like she's saying "ni especial este 11 de marzo", which gives the opposite meaning i.e. "not even special this 11th of March", which sounds more poetical anyway, that a day like any other was turned into something else.

Thanks for the feedback! Smile
Cycodamo, I think you are right about the "missing" phrase. I am not sure I am understanding the second comment, but I'll try editting the translation thought.
thanks again <3

Oh, I get what you say in the second comment now...I actually used the lyrics provided here. I've been browsing around and all the lyrics I've seen of this song say "un día especial". I could be wrong though...

'Que apaga la luz' could be translated as 'and the light gets turned off'. In the tranlsation this sentence could be interpreted as the action of taking the hand turns the lights off.
