Original lyrics

Translation
Kirjana is selling wine
Kirjana is selling wine
and she doesn't give it to the coachmen.
She doesn't give it to the coachmen, lele*
but she sells the vine to Stojan.
His mother is scolding him, giving him a lesson:
- Stojan, don't go to Kirjana,
Kirjana will deceive you, lele
she will take from you, lele, your cattle.
- Ah, mori*, you old mother,
the cattle costs, lele, hundred
The cattle costs hundred, lele,
and Kirjana alone costs thousand.
Her eyes are like two towns,
her eyebrows are like a whole street.
Her face is whiteness, lele,
and her hair, mother, is like silk.

* Lele = common interjection among the Slavonic people of the Balkans. It's believed that the origin of this word comes from the old Slavonic goddess "Lela", Slavonic equivalent of Greek "Artemis", and Roman "Diana".
* Mori = another interjection, a Turkish loanword. Originates from the Greek "μωρέ", which is a vocative form of "μωρός" (stupid, foolish).
