The grey truck

A grey truck
with California plates
Pedro Màrquz and his girlfriend
were bringing it well prepared,
they were carrying a lot of dollars
to exchange for drugs.
It had racing wheels
with their rims well-chromed,
and a big well-tuned engine.
Pedro felt safe:
there's no federal traffic cop1,
that will catch me, I swear.
Their destination was Acapulco,
they had planned it like that
to enjoy a honeymoon and
to make good use of the return journey
with a hundred kilos of the powder
that they had hidden in the truck.
On the way back in Sinaloa
Pedro said to Inez
I'm going to see if anyone is following us
Now you know what has to be done,
get out you submachine gun
and make them disappear.
In Sonora ten carloads of
feds surrounded them.
Inés said to Pedro:
don't let us be trapped,
fly over them,
it's not the first time you're doing it.
Thet shouted to them using loudhailers,
helicopters on standby,
we have them well surrounded,
they had better stop.
Suddenly a train that was crossing
put an end to the two of them2.
