The Pleb

I know I'm poor,
with you I can not marry.
Oh, my love.
Oh, my love.

But I will cry from happiness
when somebody takes you to the altar.
Oh, my love.

Don't forget me,
because we will not be happy
if my poverty doesn't go away.

I know and you know
that this doesn't matter,
but there is someone
who is not fond of our love.

You are a princess,
and I'm a pleb.
La-la-la-la-lah, la-la-lah, la-lah.
The last will be the first,
and the last am I.
La-la-la-la-lah, la-la-lah, la-lah,
la-la-la-la-lah, la-la-lah, la-lah.

I know and you know
that this doesn't matter,
but there is someone
who is not fond of our love.

You are a princess,
and I'm a pleb.
La-la-la-la-lah, la-la-lah, la-lah.
The last will be the first,
and the last am I.
La-la-la-la-lah, la-la-lah, la-lah.

You are a princess,
and I'm a pleb.
The last will be the first,
and the last am I.
La-la-la-la-lah, la-la-lah, la-lah,
la-la-la-la-lah, la-la-lah, la-lah.

You are a princess,
and I'm a pleb.
The last will be the first,
and the last am I.
La-la-la-la-lah, la-la-lah, la-lah,
la-la-la-la-lah, la-la-lah, la-lah.

There is a minor mistake on your translation:

"because we will not be happy
if my poverty doesn't go away."

In portuguese, the lyrics express a feeling of hopelessness about a future that won't happen, so it should be:

"because we would be happy
if it wasn't for my poverty."
