It's very likely that "la det vara" is just "la det vare" ("let it last") with A-infinitive (veta, voksa, henda, brenna etc.). It would be "låt det vara" if it were a quote in Swedish (e.g. "Låt den rätte komma in"), and if it were "la det vera" then it would sound more like "væra" or "vær" (e.g. "på søndag skal det vær konfirmasjon", "den ska vær kald som tar øve mi makt").
A part of the "Violeta Violeta" story which is served through the trilogy's 30 songs. The trilogy is about Violeta, her mother, Beatrice, and her father, Kenneth. Beatrice is of the alternative eccentric type and lives on the verge of madness. Her husband becomes troubled on behalf of her and fears her condition and supernatural powers. In fear of Violeta becoming like her mother, Kenneth takes off with Violeta.
Beatrice longs for her daughter and at nights she sits in the attic, wears her old wedding dress and drinks vodka in despair. While she plays a pump organ and smokes cigarettes. After suffering for seven years she decides to take her own life, but before she manages to do so her daughter makes contact in a dream. Beatrice then decides to travel out in the world to find her.
Meanwhile Kenneth and Violeta travel around the world and live in secret. After seven years, her father's nightmare happens, as Violeta has become like her mother. They end up in Singapore, where they meet Kenneth's brother. Together they make a last effort plan to get rid of Violeta in the illegal trade market. But they are too late and Violeta mocks them and laughs as she makes her way back to her childhood home.

Beatrice raises her daughter Violeta and transfers her life's wisdom to her: All that you can dream can also happen. You don't have to accept all limits that you meet in life, but you should rather search for new openings and opportunities, and be guided by your heart. Beatrice has qualities and talents surpassing those of ordinary men, and she's sure that her daughter inherited these special qualities. And so she wants to help her use her talents instead of fearing and suppressing them, like the father Kenneth wants her to. He kidnapped his own daughter and is on the run with her in the wide world, just to avoid Violeta becoming like her mother. Beatrice is balancing between being mentally sound and ill. She's hallucinating, and sometimes she thinks that she hears someone ringing at the door. She knows that's not real, but nevertheless she's asking: Is it you? Come in and get yourself some coffee...
