- 1. lit "an unknown variable and/or (feminine) person in the chorus/repetitive events of life"
- 2. lit "the begining played the end"
- 3. weak pun on "fous à lier" (stark mad)
- 4. "s'en ressentir" is used in the very unusual sense of "(something) that causes you to feel (something)", while the usual meaning is "to be affected negatively (by something)".
The global meaning is something like "we'll know we've become losers when we start feeling the bitter taste that comes with it". - 5. This makes precious little sense in French too.
Something like "we should allow ourselves time to consider (our relationship) (insert babble about losers here) before the storm hits, and the storm (contrary to us) is never ever patient".

I can see why this request got stuck in the list for more than two years.
These lyrics are fool's gold: a sprinkle of elegant words make them shine from afar, but when you look at them close enough, you soon realize they're just a collection of empty clichés obfuscated by pompous French, twisted and stretched beyond breaking point.
