I Love You All The Same
I love you but you took the flower
and left me the vase.
I love you, you left me the ash
and took away the ashtray.
I love you but you took away March
and handed over February.
First of all I love you all the same.
I love you, you took away the head
and left me the hat.
I love you but you forgot April
in the wardrobe but all the same
I love you, I don't like waiting
but all the same I'm waiting for you.
First of all I love you all the same
I love you, you left me the vase
and you took away the flower.
But all the same,
I love you. You left me the dress
and took away the love.
I love you but you forgot April
in the wardrobe.
First of all I love you all the same.
I don't know if I'm awake
or if I have my eyes open.
I love you, I don't know if I'm awake
or if I have my eyes open.
I know that I love you and more airports await me.
I love you, you took away the candle1
and left me the funeral2
First of all I love you all the same.
I love you but you took away the flower
and left me the vase.
I love you, you left me the ash
and you took away the ashtray.
I love you but you took away March
and handed over February.
First of all I love you all the same.

"Te llevaste la vela y me dejaste el entierro" could also be a play on words on a Spanish idiom with which someone rebukes a person for meddling into something which does not concenrn him, asking "¿Quién te ha dado vela en este entierro?" (lit. "Who gave you a candle in this funeral?"
