Terre d'Ombre [Shadowland]

Fatsche leso lea halalela...1
Fatsche leso lea halalela...1

Terre d'ombre,

Lea halalela2
(A terre...)
Entends ma voix,
(Tu vis...)
Qu'y a t-il là bas ?
Lea halalela2
(Fatsche leso) 3

Où que te mène la route
Que t'éclairent nos prières
Bien que tu partes très loin de nous
En toi tu gardes ta terre

Fatsche leso lea halalela...1
Fatsche leso lea halalela...1

Giza buyabo
(La route...)
Giza buyabo
(Que t'éclairent...)
Je reviendrai
(Nos prières...)
Je reviendrai
(Bien que tu partes...)
Besu bo 4
Giza buyabo 4
(Très loin de nous...)
Je reviendrai
(En toi, tu gardes ta terre...)
Giza buyabo 4

Oh, giza buyabo 4
Beso bo 4
O mes sœurs
Beso bo 4

Translation

Shadowland

The land of our ancestors is holy
The land of our ancestors is holy

Shadowland,
Where the leaves fall
This land of shadows
Is no longer ours

The river is dry
The earth is cracked
So I leave
I must leave

No matter where the road leads me
I hope I may hear your prayers
And no matter where I go, know, oh my family
That I keep my land within myself

(So proud)
No other choice
(My land)
This great setting-forth
(In tears)
Is holy
(On the earth)
Listen to my voice
(You live)
What is there, there?
Is holy
(Our land)

No matter where the road leads you
We hope you may hear our prayers
Even if you go very far from us,
Keep your land within yourself

The land of our ancestors is holy
The land of our ancestors is holy

(No matter where the road leads you)
No matter where the road leads me
(We hope you may hear our prayers)
I hope I may hear your prayers
(Even if you go very far from us)
Even if I go very far from you
(Keep your land within yourself)
I keep my land within myself

(No matter where)
I will be back
(The road leads you)
I will be back
(We hope you may hear)
I will return
(Our prayers)
I will return
(Even if you go)
I will be back
I will be back
(Very far from us)
I will return
(Keep your land within yourself)
I will be back

Oh I will be back
I will be back
Oh my sisters
I will be back

Thank you for translating, shisa! This song's so beautiful and the singer's voice is the same! :D

May I only suggest you a little thing? In the original text, there are some sentences that are not in French, and I added their meanings as footnotes (in English). Can you please just add these translations in these parts?

Yes, of course! I was just slightly confused about the "giza buyabo besu bo" part, first because both "giza buyabo" and "besu bo" were translated simply as "I will be back," and second because "besu bo" and "beso bo" seem to be the same thing? I fixed it all though :)

I got the information from the footnotes from this. I don't know a word of Zulu, I can't tell you if they mean the same thing :(

I did some minor stylistic updates in the lyric, like adding italics to background vocals - you may want to do the same to your translation, but it's not a major thing.
