Double exposure

Venice is rushing towards the boat
Water's steel grey under the azure sky
Empty gondolas are swaying gently
Glass reflects the younger two of us
 
Years are rushing us in a hurry
Some days are grey under the sunny sky
Double exposed heart's throbbing cruelly
Mirror does not show the painful ache inside
 
Memories are running swiftly; through
The rose colored glasses youth beguiled
This longing came so unexpectedly
From the music and the way you smiled

Двойное прозрение

Венеция: спешим спуститься к лодке,
Где гладь воды сереет под лазурным небом;
Пусты гондолы, волны их покачивают нежно;
И в зеркале мы двое, но моложе.
 
Года торопят нас в безумной гонке;
Бывают серыми деньки, хоть солнце в небе;
В двойном прозренье жестко бьется сердце;
Боль отразиться в зеркале не может.
 
Воспоминанья пробегают в спешке...
Сквозь розовые стёкла юность поманила;
Внезапно, остро ностальгия накатила
От музыки, и от твоей улыбки тоже.

Only one thing that irrelevant to the poem: I have a photo of coming to Venice pretty much as it says here, but photo was taken thru the window and there were reflections of our faces.
