Sasanqua

The sound of the door closing, the mark on the calendar
The sound of you crying can be heard coming from the room
You said that running away is scarier
So you continued to chase your dreams

You become insecure, as it seems like your efforts are never rewarded
Once in a while, you'd lay onto me, crying
Saying that if you were to give up right here
You'd find yourself pathetic for chasing your dreams all this while

To you, who is chasing your dreams
Remember, if you were to stumble along the way,
I think the main character of a story is the one who gets laughed at
Not the one who laughs at others

Falling down more than anyone else, crying more than everyone else
You rise up after you fall more than anyone else

I know
The moment where you shine the brightest, more than anyone else

To you, who is chasing your drams
Remember, if you should break down,
As long as the main character stands back up
The story will continue

The fact that tears are spilling out of my eyes, although I am happy
Is because I know the path that you have walked

To you, who is chasing your dreams
Remember, if you were to stumble along the way,
I think the main character of a story is the one who gets laughed at
Not the one who laughs at others

I'm sure you can do it, if it's you

Good job translating this song! I haven't been able to stop listening to it since it came out! :)

Just a couple suggestions/corrections to your translation...

In the chorus...
Should be something like..
"I think the main character of a story is the one who gets laughed at
Not the one who laughs at others"
笑われる is in the passive form, so "to be laughed at" is correct

Also, towards the end, the line...
...actually means...
"As long as the main character stands back up
The story will continue"
This line can be a bit tricky to translate since 限り has what seems like a hundred different
meanings, but in this case it's being used to show a condition. "Only when X happens, Y will happen."

Hope this is useful!!

Hey, thank you so much for your suggestions!! I really appreciate it. :D

To be honest I was a little unsure of those lines as well, so I'm really glad you pointed them out. They are extremely useful. ^^;

Have a great day!

Towards the end, at
You put as "The fact that tears are spilling out of your eyes, although you are happy
Is because you have found your way", but the second line says "because I know the path that you have walked", and (a bit more of a minor point) the first line doesn't point out if they're talking about the person talking or the person being talked about, but in the context of the second line makes more sense to me if it's
"The fact that tears are spilling out of my eyes, although I am happy
Is because I know the path that you have walked"
