Let me ask with my roots,
Let me ask with my soul, my blood,
Let me ask the ancient past—
Who is that Humay?
Humay’s mother is the Sun,
Bathed her in the Spring of Life.
Her father is Samrav,
Taught her the way of virtue.
With Akborat and a diamond sword,
Only Humay could guard them.
The path to the Spring of Life,
Only Humay knew it well.
She never went to strangers,
Never broke the land’s traditions.
She raised an honest and just son—
The bird of fortune, Humay!
Our Bashkir girls—
The stars of Humay.
The path to the Spring of Life
Is engraved in your souls.
Our Bashkir girls—
The stars of Humay.
The path to the Spring of Life
Is engraved in your souls.
Our Bashkir girls—
The stars of Humay.
The path to the Spring of Life
Is engraved in your souls.
Our Bashkir girls—
The stars of Humay.
The path to the Spring of Life
Is engraved in your souls.
Our Bashkir girls—
The stars of Humay.
The path to the Spring of Life
Is engraved in your souls.
Our Bashkir girls—
The stars of Humay.
The path to the Spring of Life
Is engraved in your souls.

This poem is deeply rooted in Bashkurt epic mythology, symbolizing purity, tradition, and the divine feminine. The central figure, Humay, is a sacred being associated with motherhood, fertility, and protection. In Turkish mythology, Humay is often depicted as a goddess who safeguards children and ensures the prosperity of her people. In this poem, she embodies wisdom and virtue, guiding her people while preserving tradition.
Another important element in the poem is Akbozat (or Akborat), a mythical horse often appearing in the legends of Bashkurt Turks. This celestial steed is associated with heroism, speed, and divine power. In the poem, Akbozat is presented as a sacred guardian, emphasizing Humay’s connection to mystical forces and her ability to protect sacred knowledge.
The Spring of Life (Cançeşme) represents purity, wisdom, and the source of vitality. Water is a recurring symbol in many cultures, often linked to rebirth and spiritual enlightenment. In Bashkurt mythology, the Spring of Life is a legendary place that grants strength and renewal, making it a powerful metaphor for Humay’s nurturing and protective nature.
The poem also celebrates Bashkurt women, referring to them as "the stars of Humay," highlighting their grace, strength, and connection to this ancient lineage. It reinforces the idea that the traditions and wisdom of the past are carried forward through the daughters of the Bashkurt people.
By blending mythology with poetic expression, this piece not only honors Bashkurt cultural heritage but also conveys universal themes of strength, virtue, and continuity.
