No Naps Allowed On The Floor
Click to see the original lyrics (Portuguese)
Our party here's better than yours there
Our band rocks much more and better than your band
And all night long all the girls
Put the roof on fire just having fun and dancing
Come, the party is on, no one having naps
They come in queues to get in and dance
At the entrance door is written
"No Naps Allowed On The Floor"
No naps allowed on the floor,
No one naps, no one naps
No naps allowed on the floor,
No one naps, no one naps
The dust is kicked, the sweat drops out
Until we see the morning sun
The whole band painfully playing
They cannot complain 'bout that all
They're earning their own dime
It's quite good to make some money
As they have read at the entrance
"No Naps Allowed On The Floor"
No naps allowed on the floor,
No one naps, no one naps
No naps allowed on the floor,
No one naps, no one naps
No naps allowed on the floor,
No one naps, no one naps
No naps allowed on the floor,
No one naps, no one naps
(repeat all)

Forró = a genre of Brazilian Northeastern music, played at the respective homonimous parties
Sanfoneiro = accordionist. Together with triangle, "zabumba" (a sort of drum), sometimes bass and guitar, a "forró band" is generally made. I have put "the band", because the "sanfoneiro" is generally the "essence" of any forró band.
