They didn't believe Lennon
Why would they believe us?
What else could we do
But keep on singing
The end of history
got to the end too quickly
If our yesterday saw a nicer future
It's falling apart now
There's no time for opinions
There's no place to abstain (lit. there's no place to stay)
I haven't studied for murder
I need to cheat again (lit. I need to use a gun again)
We're going gray (lit. we're autumn-ing), they're going on summer vacation
We're going broke, they're staying
If we cast a shadow (lit. if we sow shadows), we'll end up reaped
They gave Dylan an award
But still they didn't hear
My friend, the question
is here fluttering in the wind
Who started it and who continued it
And most importantly why?
For a handful of nothing
and for another handful of it
There's no time for opinions
There's no place to abstain
I haven't studied for murder
I need to cheat again
We're going gray, they're going on summer vacation
We're going broke, they're staying
If we cast a shadow, we'll end up reaped
We're going gray, they're going on summer vacation
We're going broke, they're staying
If we cast a shadow, we'll end up reaped
We're going gray, they're going on summer vacation
We're going broke, they're staying
If we cast a shadow, we'll end up reaped

Added literal translations to show where the lyrics build on wordplay. The literal translations in question don't always reflect the way those phrases are actually meant to be understood (in the case of sowing/casting shadows for example, sow and cast are only coincidental homonyms, same goes for gray hair vs. autumn), but regardless, I thought it would be interesting to bring attention to them.
