One of the core aspects of this song is the difference between 思い出す (omoidasu), and 思い描く (omoiegaku). Omoidasu means to recall or remember, and omoiegaku means to imagine, or to literally paint a picture in your mind. The words sound very similar, so it's clearly a play on words, but there's also a layer of ambiguity added due to the use of omoiegaku. Since it means to both draw and to paint a picture in someone's mind, is the speaker in this song imagining the person they're singing about, or are they literally drawing a picture of them in the snow? Either way, the lyrics moving from "I remember you" to "I imagine you" is used to describe the speaker's fading memories.
