2. "The young Holden" is the Italian title of the famous novel "The catcher in the rye" by J. D. Salinger.
3. literally, it says "I put on Phileas Fogg's clothes", but it is a reference to an Italian idiom ("mettersi nei panni di...") which has the same meaning as "to wear someone else's shoes".
