I don't understand why the verses are out of order. The song is a story, so the order matters. I wrote "heavens" even though "cielo" is singular, because that's the best way to convey the double meaning of heaven and sky. I had to be creative with plasta-aguas, and I believe I captured what they wanted to convey. I really don't know if Cumbia party is the best way to convey the whole of the meaning of Cumbiamba. "Party hymn" is better than "festival hymn" because the idea of the song is a kind of heavenly participation in the joy of cumbia. There's no un-clumsy way to convey the joke that the Palmeros are singing about "Palmeras" singing. I tried not to change the order of phrases, but in a couple of instances we simply wouldn't say things in English with the same syntax.
