*1:These lines could be interpreted as commands instead (For instance: "Draw the old blade once again through your skin"). Note that these lines are generally when he's actually describing injuring himself. I speculate that this is supposed to hint at a lack of self-control, something many cutters claim to feel (Although that might just be pysch 101 talking).

*2:"Ich tu mir Leid" can mean "I'm sorry for myself" or "I do myself harm." This double-meaning plays an important part of the song.
