It's not uncommon for European rappers to use soccer players' names or clubs in their songs, usually it means that they're good or revered

La lance d'Athéna j'imagine que ça vient de Saint Seya ?

Athena est fréquemment représentée avec une lance, je ne pourrais pas dire avec certitude si la référence s’inspire d’une oeuvre d’art antique ou des CDZ mais les deux sont fortement plausibles!
Les paroles ont été mal retranscrites, Shay chante en réalité « Le pouce vers le bas, jetez Commodus dans la fosse » et c’est effectivement une référence flagrante au film Gladiator ! Au delà de la popularité de ce film, vous seriez surpris du nombre de références cinématographiques dans le rap français haha. Quand on sait que le rappeur SCH (né en 1993) a su faire référence à un film de Claude Berri sorti en 1986 (« Manon des sources » avec Daniel Auteuil) dans son morceau « Morpheus », la référence de Shay à un blockbuster culte n’est plus si surprenante 😄.
