It's Up To Us
No one can write a song about love like this
Like poetry, it can't embrace sweetly
As if the world cannot be more beautiful than us
It wouldn't say that love you just for look
It's up to us to live that much
Who's had such luck, It's easy to say
Tell, separately it goes on very long
For me, we're the best
Now I'm at peace even if the storm breaks
May life come as it loves
In this world
Either with you or with you
My love, the point is
There's no one else like you, either like me
No one can write a song about love like this
Like poetry, it can't embrace sweetly
As if the world cannot be more beautiful than us
Can't get along at a glance
Now I'm at peace even if the storm breaks
May life come as it loves
In this world
Either with me or with me
My love, the point is
There's no one else like me, either like you
In this world
Either with you or with you
My love, the point is
There's no one else like you, either like me

Hi @Mimre Our Dì, thanks for the translation! I am the person who had requested for an English translation. I am trying to improve my Turkish knowledge and my own Persian translation. There are still some things in this song that I have difficulty understanding.
1) Is "kim gülmüş şansa" the same expression as "şans yüzüne gülmek"? If yes, why does the word "şans" has the suffix "a" (şansA)?
2) Can you please explain the meaning of the expressions "senden de yok, benden de yok"?
3) Does the expression "bi benle bi de benle" mean "one time with me, another time [again] with me"? What does exactly "bir" mean here?
4) I don't understand "it wouldn't say that love you just for look". Would you please rewrite it?
Thanks!
Hi Razq,
1) "şans yüzüne gülmek" and "kim gülmüş şansa" are different. actually they don't differ much from each other, just a little difference in meaning. If we translate directly from Turkish to English, 'who would have laughed by chance?' but this is a meaningless sentence in English or difficult to understand. so I translated this sentence as Who's had such luck. this is the meaning of that sentence.
2) "senden de yok benden de yok" This can be said to the person who is actually going to have a relationship. There is one from you and one from me. can be used to mean we are unique.
3) it's either with her or with her. there is no one else here. this means that the other person, the person addressed in the song, does not have a choice, that there is no other person here.
4) I actually had a really hard time translating this sentence because it is not a sentence that can be translated directly into English.
This sentence means - The world couldn't tell love for your one look. You are special to me, so I can tell love to you. In other words, your look, your eyes inspire me. 'Even your eyes are enough for me to say I love you, but the world couldn't do that to you'
Turkish is a very difficult language. some things can't even be explained. so I hope that you can develop your Turkish well and without difficulty.
You're welcome!
