thanks a lot for translation :)

The meaning is about 95% ok:
1. "während" = while (not 'because')
2. The first and the last line, if you make them one sentence, you'll see that they're both in the past (Ich hab's versucht, doch der Versuch ist nicht gelungen). So, you should better say "that the attempt wasn't sucessful". (And maybe you better put BIG letters only at the beginning of new sentences ;))
