四百(しひゃく) 余洲(よしゅう) を挙(こぞ)る
十万余騎(じゅうまんよき) の敵
国難 ここに見る
弘安四年 夏の頃
なんぞ怖れんわれに
鎌倉男児あり
正義 武断(ぶだん)の名
一喝(いっかつ)して 世に示す
２．
多々良(たたら)浜辺の 戎夷(えみし)
そは何 蒙古勢(もうこぜい)
傲慢 無礼者
倶(とも)に 天を戴(いただ)かず
いでや進みて 忠義に
鍛えし 我が腕(かいな)
ここぞ 国のため
日本刀を 試し見ん
３．
こころ筑紫(つくし) の海に
浪(なみ)おし 分けて往(ゆ)く
ますら猛夫(たけお) の身
仇(あだ)を討ち 帰らずば
死して 護国の鬼と
誓いし箱崎の 神ぞ知ろし召す
大和魂(だま) いさぎよし
４．
天は怒りて 海は
逆巻(さかま)く 大浪(おおなみ)に
国に仇(あだ) をなす
十余万の蒙古勢は
底の藻屑(もくず)と 消えて
残るは 唯三人(ただみたり)
いつしか雲はれて
玄海灘(げんかいなだ) 月清し

A national crisis is upon us now,
In the summer of the 4th year of Koan.
We, who fear nothing,
Are the men of Kamakura.

At Tatara beach, facing the Emishi,
What are they? The Mongol forces.
Arrogant and rude,
They show no respect to heaven.
We advance with loyalty,
Our skills well honed.
Here, for the sake of the country,
We test the Japanese blade.

In the heart of the sea of Tsukushi,
We forge ahead, breaking through the waves.
The body of brave and valiant men,
We must avenge the harm inflicted.
We die and become spirits of the homeland
Oath of Hakozaki, only god knows
the unwavering Japanese spirit.

The heavens enraged, the sea,
Surges into great waves.
Those who harm our nation,
The barbarian horde of a hundred thousand,
Disappear like debris into the depths.
Only three remain,
And suddenly, the clouds disperse,
And the moon shines brightly over the Genkai Sea.
