Timber

Me and my timber
Me and my timber

Okay, the song starts, and it gets a topic - me and my timber
And the topic for today, it's timber - me and my, me and my timber
Timber looks very lovely, timber is versatile - me and my timber
You can burn it, you can saw it - me and my, me and my timber
Yes, when you burn it, it gives off heat - me and my, me and my timber
But if you saw it, it would not - oh!
And now everybody in this wood, yeah:

Me and my timber, me and my timber
Timberly, timberly, timber
Me and my timber, me and my timber
Me and my, me and my timber (my timber)

Me an my timber, me and my timber
Timberly, timberly, timber
Me and my timber, me and my timber
Me and my, me and my timber (my timber)

Me and my timber - best friends forever
HDGDL - we are inseperable
It's beyond me why nowadays not everybody wants to be owner of a fine specimen of timber
And this not only because you can put it wonderfully in your living room, no
You can also coat it with paint
Well, and now again everybody in this wood, yeah:

Me and my timber, me and my timber
Timberly, timberly, timber
Me and my timber, me and my timber
Me and my, me and my timber (my timber)

Me an my timber, me and my timber
Timberly, timberly, timber
Me and my timber, me and my timber
Me and my, me and my timber (my timber)

With timber you can build a damned fine dam
And when the dam breaks, you can even trust it
Because it is crazy, this stuff, 'cause it saves people
Like the Baywatch tootsies or that David Hasseltimber
You've got a Playsi-Pad of solid gold? I am proud of chainsaw
The Mahogany Prole, I don't bring particle board to the people
Let us take some timber for everyday objects
A new life starts when a tree's life ends

My bench, my table, my stairs, my brooms
My vase, your home, my head
My thoughts, my heart, my life, my world
Is the heaviest and most powerful stick
Put your hands in the air!

Me and my timber, me and my timber
Me and my timber, me and my timber
Me and my timber, me and my timber
Me and my timber, me and my timber

Bist du sicher? Ich glaub', ein Muttersprachler wird immer Fehler finden.
Trotzdem 1000 Dank!

ja es gibt, aber nur einige zb. auf english wir sagen With timber you can build a damn fine dam. Not a damned fine dam, not sure why just sounds right. Also for the whole text I'd think that "wood" instead of "timber" would make a lot more sense since in english wood also has the connotation of bonner, as I believe is implied in german with Holz (correct me if i'm wrong.)

>"Okay, the song starts, and he gets a topic "
Da geht's schon mal los ...
"the song" ist sächlich, also nicht "he", sondern "it"!

>"Aber wenn du es sägst, dann nicht" =
But if you saw it, it doesn't
(da es generell gemeint ist, wahrscheinlich eher:
But if you saw it, it wouldn't)

PS.:
HDGDL müsste man wahrscheinlich in einer Fußnote erklären

PS PS.:

So is this song also talking about a boner? Holz means wood and in English wood can also mean boner. Is that also the same in German? I’ve only heard it called ein Hammer in German but just making sure.

As far as I see it there is no sexual connotation with this song.
It is meant as a parody of those notorious shows in certain private TV channels,
where the makers try to entice people to call them up (at an extra charged phone rate)
and promise a chance of winning a prize (money),
and also those increadibly stupid long running sales and promo shows
to sell mostly useless and overprized products.

In German we don't use the concept of "wood" for what you refer to.

OK good that's what I thought but just wanted to make sure. Thanks!
