Chona

Above, my dad, me and Chona

I'm going to tell the story of a famous person

Everybody knows her with the nickname Chona

Everybody knows her with the nickname Chona

Her husband says that he doesn't know what to do with her

Daily she goes to parties and she buys a bootle of booze

Daily she goes to parties and she buys a bootle of booze

The band starts the show with the first song

and Chona quickly looks for a dance partner

and Chona quickly looks for a dance partner

People look at her and start making noise

bravo bravo Chona no one can compare to you

bravo bravo Chona no one can compare to you

And Chona dances, and people make noise

There's nobody better than Chona for dancing "quebradita"

And Chona dances, she dances every rhythm

She dances every style, she never lose the rhythm

"Rhythm and flavor, The Toucans from Tijuana"

And Chona dances, and people make noise

There's nobody better than Chona for dancing "quebradita"

And Chona dances, she dances every rhythm

She dances every style, she never lose the rhythm

I removed the blank lines in the original lyrics (and corrected typos) so now the lines are more out of sync.

I think that "arriba" should be translated as "hurray" or "viva" (or, more liberally, "cheers") rather than "above". For the rest, it gets the meaning across.

Band names aren't usually translated, but in this case it's obvious anyways.
