Landa is no neo-nazi. He has skinhead past from late 80s and early 90s, but he has said many times he is way beyond his past and under no circumstances he doesn't want to act like it doesn't exist. He is a big Czech patriot and by his latest activities in Afghanistan he sure look a lot like philanthropist which goes pretty well with the main idea of this song. He just gave it another (ironic) arrangements.

Krásny preklad, podľa mňa si v ňom zachytil ducha piesne ako sa len snáď dalo.
Avšak v refréne, resp. na jeho konci vetu:
Quote:"Seržante! Mávnou
a budem zasvěceni."
Si preložil ako:
Quote:"Sergeant! They will salute us,
and we will be initiated."
Na tomto preklade sa mi nezdá iba jedna vec, a to preklad slova "mávnou". Ty si to (pochopiteľne) preložil ako by sa prekladalo moderné slovo "mávnou", teda "(they will) wave", čož si následne interpretoval (rozumne) ako pozdrav, teda "They will salute (us)".
Moderne napísané by to bolo:
Quote:"Seržante! Mávněte
a budem zasvěceni."
A preložené by to mohlo byť proste (možno ťa napadne lepší preklad, mňa nič lepšie nenapadlo):
Quote:"Sergeant! Wave your hand,
and we will be initiated."
This is probably the most famous anti-war song from Czechoslovakia, written by Karel Kryl in 60's, when the Soviets invaded our country. While the song is more of poetry, than a real song, containing a lot of symbols, it is still possible to translate it. Ironically, later on was the song re-sung by Daniel Landa, most famous Czech neo-nazi of early 90's, in an aggresive, military-style. Nowadays, Czech teenagers know this song mainly from the Landa's presentation, without knowing its real meaning.
[1]: Pegasus, is a winged horse from the Greek mythology, who unsuccessfully tried to help to bring a semi-mortal to Olympus. In this song it symbolizes unfulfilled desires.
[2]: Probably refers to dog tags, used universally by armies in the world to identify the fallen?
[3]: The flower, Gladiola, is named from latin "Gladius" (sword), as the shape of petals is simmilar to a sword. Gladiators in Rome were given Gladioli as a sign of winner, if they defeated (i.e. killed) their opponent.
[4]: Name Danielle is derived from Daniel, which name has meaning: somebody judged only by God.
[5]: Ave Caesar, Morituri te Salutant: from Latin, means: hail emperor, the condemned to death salute you! phrase supposendly used by the gladiators before match, to address the emperor in the audience.
[6]: Dove is a traditional symbol of peace
[7]: Brass bee: a bullet.
