To See
To see the river frozen
To want it to be spring;
To see the land burnt
And to sow seeds, singing;
To see what we're twenty
To want to squander the years;
To see a peasant pass by
And to try to love him;
To see a barricade
And to want to defend it;
To see an ambush fall
And then not to surrender;
To see the grey of neighborhoods
To want to be Renoir;
To see the enemy of old
And to bring his memory to a close;
To see that we're growing older
And to want to begin;
To see a love blooming
And to want so to burn;
To see the useless fear
To leave it to the toads;
To see that we are fragile
And to sing anew;
That's what I see
That's what I want
Since I saw you
Since I want you

I feel like there might be some colloquial expressions I'm missing here. I'd appreciate any feedback anyone has!

I'm not sure about the way the infinitive is being translated. I think in this case it would be more appropriate to translate it as '-ing'.
ie
Seeing the frozen river
Wanting it to be spring
Seeing the burnt earth
And sowing whilst singing
etc
What do you think?
