Beautiful

The world goes round and round and i make you go round
you look at me and i don't reply because there's no answer
that can be put in words
beautiful like a morning
of crystal clear water
like a window that illuminates my pillow
warm like bread, (like the) shadow under a pine
while you go away, stay with me forever
I work all day and all day I think of you
and when I take the bread out of the oven, I keep it warm for you...
clear like an ABC
like a Monday
of holiday after a year of work
beautiful and "strong" like a flower
sweetness of pain
beautiful like the wind that made you beautiful my love
primitive hapiness of knowing you alive, full life, days and hours of heartbeats
pure, sweet butterfly
naked like a bride
while you go away, stay with me forever
beautiful like a morning
of crystal clear water
like a window that illuminates my pillow
warm like bread, (like the) shadow under a pine
like a passport with a child's photo
beautiful like a circle
big as the world
warm like a sirocco and fresh like a north wind
you, like fortune/luck, so opportune
while you go away, stay with me forever
beautiful like harmony
like happiness/joy
like my grandma's photo when she was a girl
like a poem
o, my lady
like the reality my fantasy meets.
Beautiful!

An improved (and even lovelier) translation, not perfect but closer:

. . And the world spins and spins
And the world spins and I spin you (closer to the spirit of the song: you spin someone out of love more than "turn someone around") . . .

. . . While you escape and stay with me forever (correct lyrics: Quando t'allontani e stai con me forever) . . .

. . .Clear like ABC
Like a Monday of vacation after a year of work
Strong like a flower (original lyrics contain no "bella" in this phrase)
Sweet like sorrow . . .

. . . Primitive joy of knowingly living life full of days and hours of heartbeats (hard to translate, but I think this comes closer. It has to do with living thoughtfully, intelligently, introspectively, etc.). . .

. . .naked like a spouse . . .

. . . warmth of Sirocco (a wind from Italy's south)
cool like the north wind (hard to translate this literally, but the idea is that she is warm like the south wind and cool like the north wind). . .

. . ."O Madonna mia! is an Italian expression equivalent to "Oh, my God!" . . .

. . . Like reality meeting my fantasy

"O madonna mia" nel caso specifico non c'entra nulla con "Oh, my God". Non si tratta di una esclamazione, ma di un evidente riferimento alla lirica medievale, nella quale il poeta si riferiva all'amata come alla "madonna" (da "mia donna"). Non a caso il termine è scritto con la lettera minuscola e segue immediatamente la parola "poesia".

Ecco la traduzione inglese rivista e scritta secondo la metrica originale della canzone:

And the world goes round and round
and it goes round and I twist you
you look at me and I don't reply
because there is no answer in words

Beautiful like a morning of crystal clear water
like a window that lights up my pillow
warm like bread, shadow under a pine
while you go away, stay with me forever

I work all day
and all day I think of you
and when I take the bread out of the oven
I keep it warm for you

Clear like an ABC
like a Monday of holiday after a year of work
beautiful, strong like a flower, sweet of heartache
beautiful like the wind that made you beautiful, my love

Primitive happiness of knowing you alive
full life, days and hours, heartbeat
pure, sweet Mariposa, nude like a bride
while you go away, stay with me forever

Beautiful like a morning of crystal clear water
like a window that lights up my pillow
warm like bread, shadow under a pine
like a passport with a child's photo

Beautiful like a circle, big as the world
warm like sirocco and fresh like north wind
you like luck, you so appropriate
while you go away, stay with me forever

Beautiful like an harmony, like cheerfulness
like my grandma's photo when she was a girl
like a poem, o my lady
like the reality meeting my fantasy
