باد پاییزی
باز از یاد تو چون شعله رها در بادم
وای ازین یادِ بجا مانده ز تو در یادم
باد پاییزی ات آمد اثر از برگ نماند
بر تنِ بیدِ بجا مانده‌ی از بیدادم
گفتم این شیوه‌ی عاشق کشی ات رسم نبود
گفتی این شیوه‌ی شیرین من است، فرهادم!
فرش، گسترده فرارویِ فرو مرده‌ی خویش
تا فراموش شود فرّ بتان از یادم
سرّ سامانِ سپهری سرو و سامانی ساز
تا مَه ات نور فشاند به مزار آبادم

Autumnal wind
Remembering you again, I'm like a flame left in the wind,
Ah, of this memory of you that remains in my mind
Your autumnal wind came, leaving no trace of a leaf
On this willow's body, left by injustice
I said our plan wasn't to kill your lover.
You said this is Shirin's way, my Farhad!1
She spreads a red carpet at the feet of her slain one, so that the glory of other beauties may be forgotten from my mind
O the secret of the celestial order, make an order
So that your moon sheds light on the place of my dead figure
