Loose Connection

If I were a piece of furniture, then I would be a lamp from the 70s
If I were a piece of furniture, then I would be a lamp from the 70s
I suck the nuclear plants dry, I run on eight thousand amperes
If I were a piece of furniture, then I would be a lamp from the 70s
I like to preheat, I like to go out, my fuse blows
If I were a piece of furniture, then I would be a lamp from the 70s
I suck nuclear plants dry, I run on eight thousand amperes
I have a loose-loose-loose-loose-loose-loose-loose connection
What does he have? (A loose connection)
I have a loose-loose-loose-loose-loose-loose-loose connection
What does he have? (A loose connection)
I have a loose-loose-loose-loose-loose-loose-loose connection
What does he have? (A loose connection)
I have a loose-loose-loose-loose-loose-loose-loose connection
What does he have? (A loose connection)
I am not so bright4, bright in the chapel
I am retro, I choose my outfits with a 'looks fine'
Pietro Lombardi is a smart lad compared to me
But now and again a light flickers up top
And that's cool, I like to be out of it5
My bulb often exceeds its voltage
Direct current, alternating current, Highway to Hell6
(Bright, bright, he is not the brightest!)
If I were a piece of furniture, then I would be a lamp from the 70s
I like to preheat, I like to go out, my fuses blow
If I were a piece of furniture, then I would be a lamp from the 70s
I suck nuclear plants dry, I run on eight thousand amperes
If I were a piece of furniture, then I would be a lamp from the 70s

If I were a piece of furniture, then I would be a lamp from the 70s

I have a loose-loose-loose-loose-loose-loose-loose connection

And when I go out, I party with lamps from the 60s
They preheat for longer, go out more often
With them, you'll definitely blow your fuse
If I were a piece of furniture
- 1. "Vorglühen" has a double meaning. It refers literally to the phase where an energy saving lamp is still getting warm and is thus not at full brightness, but also has the meaning "predrink"
- 2. This pun works in English
- 3. As far as I could tell, 'short-circuiting' is German slang for having a blackout after consuming too many drugs
- 4. this pun also works in English
- 5. The German phrase 'auf der Leitung stehen' (to be out of it/to be a bit slow) literally means 'to stand on the cable' - like a lamp might
- 6. This pun works better in English: Highway to Hell is a song by AC/DC (Alternating Current/Direct Current)

Russia is waging a disgraceful war on Ukraine. Stand With Ukraine!
Freigeist
This song is basically one long pun comparing the singer's partying habits/his personality to a lamp from the seventies. I have used footnotes for any moments I thought a pun might be unclear, so not every word play is explained (though hopefully the meanings are clear, ask any questions in the comments if not though!).
