Dawn in the Adan
The buzz of nightfall
though there's no one here,
falling stardust
drifts home into the eastern sky
Tomorrow, in this place
though it may be invisible
in the end,
the sound of an ancient ocean
is in your arms and filling your cheeks
The equinoxial boat
is trying to tell us something
you hear nothing,
and your heart is surely pounding
Though you reach high into the sky, both hands outstretched
you're interrupted
for this place is always breaking forth.
still, you will not come
forever you will be waiting
Children cross over the sea.
They open their eyes with the flowers,
as their skin tears open
and from within their bodies
a new ocean pours out, and beautiful life therein
goes forth into the world
