Deca Dance
L'Italia chiama, J-Ax risponde!... Energia!
Negl'anni di quella canzone di Cindy Lauper: Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
Io sono Jovanotti for President
(Gimme Five! Gimme Five! All Right!)
A temere quelli forti o uno coi soldi... papà era Ugo Fantozzi...
(This is the rhythm of my life)
(Ballo, ballo, ballo, ballo)

Translation
Deca Dance (read "Decadence")
Italy calls, J-ax answers.... Power!
It pumps it up and it doesn't hurt
It pumps it up and it doesn't hurt
It pumps it up and it doesn't hurt
It pumps it up and it doesn't hurt
I've been born Italian but
I switched my name from Alessandro to J-Ax
In the Eighties I believed that in the present days we would fly around with jetpacks
And now I'm stuck and I'm producing solphates in the city traffic
during the Nineties I was thinking that world wouldn't have changed just listening to 2Pac
Lonely in Riccione in summer, with empty pockets outside the Acquafan #(popular water park set in Riccione)
During the years when there was the Cyndi Lauper song: "Girls just want to have fun"
So, this is me then... no, I'm no perfection
Me, who when I want to dance I want only Mauro Repetto's stuff #(Former member of the pop band 883)
I learned anarchy from Ken and Raul
and philosophy watching Animal House
I dance this Deca Dance
carrying the best things in me
I'm Bruno Sacchi wearing a Moncler jacket
I'm Jovanotti for president
(Gimme five! Gimme five! All right")
I was born Italian, but I'm used to the mistrust of fellow italians
I found myself prejudiced: pre: -nonEu citizen
To tell the truth I wasn't even tattoed, I was forced to leave my hair short
to fear the powerful and the rich
dad was just like Ugo Fantozzi
He would take us to the lakeside, the unexpensive house, beneath the clouds for the working class
And now that lake is restricted, it's too polluted
but the doctor prescribed a bit of fresh air
(I) would bathe in trash
(I) I'm the middle class and its innocence
(I) I'm Diego Abatantuono shouting "Violeeeeeeeeeeeeence"
I dance this deca dance
and I carry the best things inside me
I'm bruno sacchi weraring the Moncler jacket
I'm the songs from the 883 band
(In the night)
I dance this deca dance
and I carry the best things inside me
Ok, it's just another decade
and a decade with another
I was born italian and we cant' believe that 2010 is just around the corner
Do you ever stop and think that in Barberino there's a traffic jam so long that you'd better go on foot?
Do you ever stop and think that once nurse clogs were in?
Do you ever stop and consider that they're gonna film a sequel of Beverly Hills 90210
Brenda has been keeping her face in the freezer since then
When she smiles she uncovers her teeth gums
and I was convinced that both George Micheal an Michael Jackson had lots of chicks around
I'm the calippo fizz (popular icicle brand) Licia and the Bee Hives
I'm Drive In and Non è la Rai
I'm the Dee Jay Time and the Sega Mega Drive
(this is the rhytm of the night)
(and I dance, dance, dance)
I dance this Deca Dance
carrying the best things in me
I'm Bruno Sacchi wearing a Moncler jacket
I'm Lino Banfi and Edwige Fenech
(it pomps up and it doesn't hurt)
I dance this deca dance
and I carry the best things inside me
Ok, it's just another decade
and a decade with another

Comments
the cultural references to Italy in the early-mid eighties are uncountable.
Moncler Jackets were shiny duffle coats with bright colors that costed a lot and were the symbol of the paninari, a group of people that followed fashion and eated in fast food parlors. Bruno sacchi is a fictional teen character from the tv show "the kids from class IIIC".
Non è la Rai and Drive in are both tv programs from that period and they're know to be edonistic and even a bit superficial.
Ugo Fantozzi is a fictional humorous character that represent the middle and working class, struggling to gain a bit of happines in an existence of squalor and exploitment
Diego abatantuono is an actor who was very popular in the eighties. The quote comes from the film Attila
Licia and the Bee Hives are characters from the japanese anime Love me Knight, that has incredibly loved by italian kids in the eighties, much more than from Japanese.
Barberino is an highway toll point in Italy which is famous for being crowded and full of traffic
