Arakaki Hitoe (born: April 7, 1981), nickname: Hitoe-chan, Hitchi, was a member of the extremely popular 1990s idol group SPEED. She was the oldest SPEED member and their leader. Among SPEED members, she was the most knowledgeable about music and dance. She even did her own research on R&B music that was relatively new at that time to incorporate it into their song arrangement and coreography. Being their best dancer, she was in charge of coreography for SPEED last single before their disbandment. Hitoe also loved Jamaican music, she went to Jamaica many times to learn their authentic music. In her solo career, she also used the stage name: HITOE since 2002.
