The World I Dreamed Of
Many times I have already thought
that my world is going upside down
towards a sea with a bottom of lies and hypocrisy.
Many times I have wanted
in this world of mine to help
all those who die and suffer like you.
The world I dreamed of
will have a thousand hearts,
to be able to beat,
it will have a thousand loves.
The world I dreamed of
will have a million flowers,
a thousand boys that will become
great men tomorrow.
They'll look around with eyes wide open,
you'll save them.
For those whom the sun worships,
there are no more races, colours don't matter,
because our hearts were put by the same,
your god and mine.
For those who insinuate a smile
because the fortune that does not give a warning
reveals they'll see you in their future.
The world I dreamed of
will be lived in colours;
I will no longer hear
cannon shots.
The world I dreamed of
will bring more justice
to all those whose news is only about war.
They'll look around with eyes wide open,
you'll save them.
How can one ignore, how can one be
indifferent like this, unmoved like this?
With those children that will never grow,
how can one listen to them without being moved?
Let's give one thing to the world,
tons of love and peace.
The world I dreamed of, oh, oh, oh.
The world I dreamed of
would have a heart.
The world I dreamed of
would be called love.
If you walk holding my hand, you can see
the world I dreamed of.
