Hey Jamilet :) You did a very good job translating this song. Anyhow I'd just like to point out a couple of minor misunderstandings.
When the song goes "Sarà difficile lasciarti al mondo e tenere un pezzetto per me" it means that it'll be difficult to leave you to the world and still be able to have a small part of you all to myself.
Also, "girotondo" in Italian refers to a playground singing game which would be equal to the english "ring a ring o'roses" and since the song is about a parent and a child, by translating it as "circle" it kind of looses its meaning in a sense.
"mentre tu ti giri" actually means "while you turn around"
Keep up the good work! :D
Very nice job!
I wanted to let you know of a couple of mistakes that I've spotted.
Firstly, the sentence “Sarà difficile vederti da dietro” means “it will be difficult to look at you from behind”. She is not looking back at their past: she is looking forward towards her daughter future, looking from behind.
Another minor thing that I would change is your translation of “sarà difficile ma sarà fin troppo semplice”. The meaning is: "It'll be difficult, but it'll be even way too easy”. There is no “in the end” in the original lyrics :)
This is the first time I leave a comment on this site, I'm sorry if my English is not perfect ;P
Best regards^^
Thank you for your comments. I'm sure your English is better than my Italian, and hope you continue to comment and help other members translate better.
"It'll be difficult to look back" does imply that she is looking back at some point in the future, but I turned your comment into a footnote to avoid confusion.
I did follow your second suggestion and thank you for helping me to understand your language better. :)
You're very welcome!
And... well, I'll try to do so, even if currently I'm not checking this site often XD (So, sorry for this late reply). I'm glad you appreciated my help :)
I feel like I should add something about the “vederti da dietro” thing. Because when you say: "It'll be difficult to look back” does imply that she is looking back at some point in the future”, it makes me wonder if maybe I have expressed myself poorly the other time.
When I pointed that out, I thought that you might have confused “guardare indietro” - which does indeed mean “to look back” - with “guardare da dietro”, which, on the contrary, stands for “to look (at something) standing behind (it)”.
Maybe you had already gotten it and I've just been a little redundant; if that's so, I'm sorry for that!
Keep up your good work! :)
sorry to bother you but i noticed some imprecisions that if corrected they might give a better understanding of the song
I'll set aside games (better to say TOYS because she is sayng that now that she is a mother she is not a child anymore)
try growing up (in the original she says "I'll try to grow up" )
in my own small way I'll try (theoretically would be in the present "i'm trying")
but changing things is difficult (changing IT meaning the World)
you'll sway, jump, and sing (she says "cambierai" not "canterai" so it should be change not sing)
anyway great job :-)
