The song is based on the story "Iro Chigai no Trump" (色違いのトランプ, "Color-different playing cards"), written by Miyabe. The story is the last of the four stories fom the novel collection "Hajimete No" (The First Time I...).
This collection, made in collaboration with YOASOBI, groups four stories written by Naoki Prize-winning novelists together. The main theme of the novels is "a story to read when you first did". These stories will be transposed into songs by YOASOBI.
The theme of "Iro Chigai no Trump" is "a story when you first become a suspect".
