Tag på landet!

Go to the Countryside!

The sunset is simply so fantastic,
it is as if the sun was made of neon tubes,
and the clouds as if they were cast in plastic.

I stand here dipping my acid thingies1
in the water which is full of jellyfish.
The wind is numbingly heavy due to gasses
- it ferments so that it begins to sizzle and bubble.

The sun disappears behind the fishing shores,
and shines upon the water,
upon the hydrofoils and the supertankers,
and upon the oil slicks in the sand.

I'm on holidays,
and I wouldn't change that, not even if I got a million.
It is so wonderful to be in the countryside,
it is so marvelous to be near the sea.

On the pier the fellows are standing
with their fishing hooks.
One caught a transistor radio,
another caught a god damn seagull.

All their wobbly asses are showing
in their bikini thongs.
And they are dark around their e-e-eyes
- that happens when one drinks shots of whiskey.

I am quite pretty myself, too,
I look as if I had been fried in oil,
but I say: fuck my tan,
as long as I gone on acid.

I'm on holidays,
and I wouldn't change that, not even if I got a million.
It is so wonderful to be in the countryside,
it is so marvelous to be near the sea.

It is beautiful with a piece of rural culture
- Danish traditions are quite nice after all.
The sausage seller has got Tyrolean breeches on,
and there's sauerkraut in his hot dogs.

In the evening people are topless, go go,
and live show in the local pub.
Afterwards you might do it yourself,
but normally I just take off my shoes.

In the club there is jazz music
with that guy Elvis Presley.
Then it is time for a party and rhythmics
in clogs with grass in them.

I'm on holidays,
and I wouldn't change that, not even if I got a million.
It is so wonderful to be in the countryside,
it is so marvelous to be near the sea.

This right here is something else than the life in a city.
Can you believe it, the city made me really ill,
I went to my doctor, and my doctor said:
"Go to the countryside a couple of days!"

When I get home to the city again,
home to the pollution,
and my nerves can not endure nomore,
then I am luckily going to the countryside again.

I'm on holidays,
and I wouldn't change that, not even if I got a million.
It is so wonderful to be in the countryside,
it is so marvelous to be near the sea.
  • 1. He simply refers to his legs, it is not stated why he refers to them as being acid.
