I miss you
As the nighttime would miss the stars
As the mornings would miss their beauty
Being without you, oh God, how it pains me
I miss you
While walking, while crying, while laughing
When the sun shines, when it's freezing
Because I feel like you are part of me
I miss you
As the trees would miss autumn
On the nights that I can't seem to sleep
You cannot imagine, my love, how much I miss you
I miss you
With every step I take alone
In every moment that I live daily
I'm dying, my love, because I miss you
I miss you
When dawn/dusk begins to show its colors
With your virtues, with your faults
What you want I don't know, but I miss you
'Por lo que quieras' gives me the most trouble. I understand that it often means 'for heaven's sake', but I can't figure it out here. I might be mistaken, but I think that the lyrics are meant to give examples of how things that naturally go together would miss their counterparts if they were to be separated, hence the conditional, which is NOT directly expressed in Spanish, but I believe it to be implied. When it comes to the trees missing autumn, I'd have thought they would miss the spring more, but who's to judge one season's colors over another. ;-) Aurora in Spanish, to my understanding, refers to both dawn and dusk, but in English it refers mainly to the Northern Lights. It could also be used in this instance though. Again, my biggest problem is not knowing if 'por lo que quieras' is meant to be an idiom or if it's literal.
