On top of the glistening water surface,
I soar against the wind, immersed
I let my wings flutter,
Let’s go to that town,
Going past the oceans
Yes, I am a small swallow
In the town I arrived at, I came upon
The voices of people who appear to be having fun,
And the voice of a friend who is in sorrow
Everyone has a different way of life
Why is it that we end up hurting each other without realising,
While wanting to protect one-another?
Under the same sky
We all live colourful lives
And live together in this place
While humans, plants, flowers and birds
Lean on and support one-another,

Behind the wealth that someone received,
Is a friend who had his home taken from him
When in truth, all he wanted was to be close with them,

By forgiving, and by acknowledging,
We can connect with one-another
What we can do now,
Even if that alone doesn’t change everything,
You see, if we can just add just a little bit of vibrant colour
Into someone’s day,
Even if it’s not something like shining jewels,

This song is based on the novel Chiisa na Tsubame no Ooki na Yume (小さなツバメの大きな夢, "The Big Dream of a Little Swallow"), written by 15-year-old Nana Ototsuki. It was selected from more than 700 novels for the project Yoasobi to Tsukuru Mirai no Uta (YOASOBIとつくる 未来のうた, "Made with Yoasobi, Song of the future").
The song is the theme song of the children televison program series Hirogare! Irotoridori, produced by SDGs and broadcast on NHK. It is sung by Ikura (the vocalist of Yoasobi) and the SDGs Kodomo unit, composed of 5 elementary school students from the first to the fifth grades : Atsuki, Ukyou, Lexie, Ririna and Yumeri.
