On the back, I ride
Of my inner shadow
its black mane billows
in the thunderclouds of the mind
Sharp hoofs
Scar deeply the ground
Of my inner grasslands
You are nothing!
I ride my darkness
It races forward
I ride in darkness
All light has gone
I hear steps
But am blind to all paths
I sense the scent of froth
I sense fear taking over
I know the raven call in the fog
It follows me, my guardian-crow
Tries to lead me when the dark horse races
I can only hear the beat of wings
Serpent tongues
Whisper in my ear
Speaking the words
The shadow wishes to hear
I need a light
Fragile is my hope
Shrouded is my path
Shifted is my sight
We rode and we ran
The giant steed tired
We found a flood
In the valley's blood
But the steed just kept charging ahead
Forward! Straight like the spruce
You can lead a horse to water
The time to dismount has come
I see a light
The tiniest flame
Is all I need
The raven calls clearly now
But do not let the door stand ajar
The shadow in the dark constantly awaits
